“The One and Only” Wildflower Triathlon at Lake San Antonio, California was May 1-2. The UO Triathlon Team made the 13 hour trip down with 6 large vans and 30 student triathletes. We camped for 5 days, raced 1 day, and had inconceivable amounts of fun.
This picture shows just how big the race was. This is a picture of the transition zone with the lake in the background. It was so big I couldn’t even fit it all in one picture.
I made everyone on the team pose for pre-race shots the day before our race. Here are some of the resulting photos:
Then race morning came along and everyone was super pumped. More photos came to be.

Finally everyone managed to squeeze into their wetsuits and we did a quack cheer. The UO men were ready to go and took off 5 minutes before the UO women.
Then the women went in our pink swim caps. This is the start of my race. I’m that one making a really big splash, towards the front on the side close to the dock. You know, that one.
And everyone finished! The UO team placed 5th out of all the collegiate teams.

Then the most impressive feat of all occurred. We stayed Sunday night and then left at 6:00 am Monday morning to drive home. 6 vans, 30 students, 13 hours of travel with only 3 stops! I was absolutely amazed.

way to go!!!
